Verify what Googlebot can receive
Compare the live URL, rendered HTML, status code, robots directives, and canonical with the page you expect. Firewalls, consent layers, JavaScript rendering, and caches can produce a different response for crawlers.
Look for competing destinations
Search for near-duplicate posts, tag pages, print versions, parameters, and syndication. Align internal links, sitemaps, redirects, and canonicals around the useful preferred URL.
Improve the page, not its word count
Add original evidence, clearer answers, useful media, first-hand detail, and a reason for the URL to exist independently. Removing boilerplate or merging overlapping pages can be more effective than adding generic text.
Strengthen internal importance
Link from relevant indexed hubs with descriptive anchors, then wait for a recrawl after material changes. Use truthful status reporting during the process.
