- Identify which tool reached its limit; Search Console and API quotas are separate.
- Fix confirmed blockers and prioritise a small set of materially changed URLs.
- Use an accurate sitemap for larger sets and monitor instead of repeatedly requesting.
What the quota message actually means#
URL Inspection protects the Request indexing action with usage limits. Google does not publish a dependable daily number you should design a workflow around, and quota availability can vary.
Normal discovery through links and sitemaps continues independently.
Do not build a retry loop#
Refreshing, automating manual inspection requests, or submitting every low-value URL wastes operational attention and can breach platform expectations. A request is a prompt to recrawl, not a queue position you can purchase from Google.
Use discovery signals that scale#
- Maintain accurate XML sitemaps containing canonical, indexable URLs.
- Link new pages from relevant crawlable hubs.
- Keep servers fast and reliable for crawlers.
- Control duplicate parameters, filters, and low-value archives.
- Publish fewer, clearer destinations when many pages answer the same intent.
Reserve manual requests for meaningful moments#
Use URL Inspection for an important new page, a corrected critical error, or a small number of representative URLs after a template fix. For routine publishing, use a measured submission and monitoring workflow rather than treating the button as the indexing system.

When does the quota reset?
Google does not provide a reliable public reset schedule for every property and action. Wait and use scalable discovery signals meanwhile.
Does quota exceeded mean Google stopped crawling my site?
No. It applies to the manual request action, not normal crawling from links and sitemaps.
Can a plugin bypass the Search Console quota?
A plugin should not promise to bypass Google’s controls. Submission providers and Search Console actions are different systems.
Should I submit my whole sitemap manually?
Submit the sitemap in Search Console and maintain it; do not request inspection one URL at a time for the whole site.
